The Science & The Cover-Up

Pfizer Failed to Warn Women About Brain Tumor Risk for Decades

Science linking Depo-Provera to meningioma dates back to 1983. Women deserved to know.

A landmark study published in JAMA Neurology (September 2025) analyzed more than 10 million women across 68 health systems and confirmed a 2.43 relative risk of meningioma in long-term Depo-Provera users. No other contraceptive studied showed comparable danger.

This was not the first red flag. In 1983, a study in the European Journal of Cancer identified a high concentration of progesterone receptors in meningioma tissue — suggesting hormonal contraceptives could feed tumor growth. Pfizer and its predecessors had decades to act and chose not to warn patients.

The FDA finally required a meningioma warning on Depo-Provera labels in December 2025 — but millions of women who used the drug before that date received no warning of any kind. If you're one of them, the law is on your side.
